Buying WoW gold: What is the risk?

Then there is the question so risk. Some of you may fear that your account may be closed if you buy gold. While that may happen, it is highly unlikely. You see, my theory is that Blizzard doesn't really care if people buy wow gold. The reason they crack down on it from time to time is that many players don't approve of it, and so Blizzard has to make it a big deal to please the more fair minded players.

This is my personal theory and has in no way been confirmed by Blizzard or Blizzard employees. Nor will it ever, since they are not interested in endorsing your buying of wow gold. Regardless, it is a strong theory. I mean, have you ever heard about anyone who got their accounts closed for buying gold_ Sure, they will do it if you use bots to farm wow gold or wow honor, but not for buying gold that somebody else farmed. It would plain and simple be bad business for them. Google it and see if you can find anyone claiming to have had their accounts closed solely from buying gold. It hardly ever happens. Having said that, there are some precautions you can take to avoid being detected.

  1. Do not buy wow gold from  in game gold sellers. This sort of activity is much easier to trace, and you will probably be questioned for it. This is because all wow gold sellers are reported to GMs as soon as they spam all the players. Use websites to buy, and take some time to find one that has a reputation for subtlety.
  2. Buy wow gold in smaller amounts even if it works out cheaper to do it in large amounts. Large amounts are traced, and even if you probably won't be banned for it, it helps for your own peace of mine.
  3. Check out eBay. You can often find wow gold or even rare or expensive items in there. And if priced reasonably, you should buy an item in stead. It holds the value of gold, and is practically untraceable, and chances are you were going to spend your gold on items anyway. If you get a good price, it is worth looking into. Follow their listings over a few days, and you might just find a bargain. You can of course also buy an entire wow account with wow gold, wow honor, gear and levels as well. They are widely available on eBay as well, but I will look at this option in another post

So the moral (if you can even call it that) is, if you need wow gold, there are low if any risks involved for the buyer. However, if you feel honest or just don't have the money for it, I will be publishing a guide on finding your best gold farming strategy in the near future. Stay tuned :)

Buying WoW Gold. Is It Worth The Money?

So you have played WoW, that is World of Warcraft for some time. You have leveled your character to level 80 or close to it. What now? Well, you can't progress further in a leveling sense, so now is the time for gear. Good gear. Some of it can be achieved only through heroic dungeons, raids and honor kills, but the rest can be bought for gold. Gold that you do not have.

By this time, you have no doubt been spammed by in-game gold sellers enough to hate them, but you have probably also now and again considered it. Wouldn't it be great to just get a few thousand wow gold to buy all that expensive gear that you would otherwise have to work so hard for?

Well, I have worked it out like this: What you get out of buying gold far outweighs the price of it, the alternative of course being to spend outrageous amounts of time farming it. There are of course countless guides online on how to farm your gold efficiently, but from my experience, all these guides expire sooner or later as the game evolves.

Besides, the time that you take reading these guides is also valuable time. In fact, if you logged out and spent an extra couple of hours at work, you would probably be able to pay for far more gold than you would be able to farm in the same amount of time no matter how little you earn. And even if you didn't take the extra hours at work, wouldn't you rather spend your free time doing raids and heroics than farming for gold or buying and selling in the auction house?

You would be amazed at how cheap it has got as well. Have a look at some gold sites. The prices seem to vary from 2-5 euros for 1000 gold. That is in my case 5-10 days worth of daily quests. In fact, the game time I save on this alone pays for the gold. Personally, I bought before the prices dropped, and I have not once regretted it.

However, if you do decide to buy gold, there is a small risk involved. In my next blog post, I will look at the risks, and I will explain to you why they are too low to even consider.
