Buying WoW Gold. Is It Worth The Money?

So you have played WoW, that is World of Warcraft for some time. You have leveled your character to level 80 or close to it. What now? Well, you can't progress further in a leveling sense, so now is the time for gear. Good gear. Some of it can be achieved only through heroic dungeons, raids and honor kills, but the rest can be bought for gold. Gold that you do not have.

By this time, you have no doubt been spammed by in-game gold sellers enough to hate them, but you have probably also now and again considered it. Wouldn't it be great to just get a few thousand wow gold to buy all that expensive gear that you would otherwise have to work so hard for?

Well, I have worked it out like this: What you get out of buying gold far outweighs the price of it, the alternative of course being to spend outrageous amounts of time farming it. There are of course countless guides online on how to farm your gold efficiently, but from my experience, all these guides expire sooner or later as the game evolves.

Besides, the time that you take reading these guides is also valuable time. In fact, if you logged out and spent an extra couple of hours at work, you would probably be able to pay for far more gold than you would be able to farm in the same amount of time no matter how little you earn. And even if you didn't take the extra hours at work, wouldn't you rather spend your free time doing raids and heroics than farming for gold or buying and selling in the auction house?

You would be amazed at how cheap it has got as well. Have a look at some gold sites. The prices seem to vary from 2-5 euros for 1000 gold. That is in my case 5-10 days worth of daily quests. In fact, the game time I save on this alone pays for the gold. Personally, I bought before the prices dropped, and I have not once regretted it.

However, if you do decide to buy gold, there is a small risk involved. In my next blog post, I will look at the risks, and I will explain to you why they are too low to even consider.
